Containment: The first step is setting up the containment. Each containment has to be designed for each location. All sides of the containment are sealed with tape. Sometimes the tape doesn’t stick, and we may have to use tape and staples. Containments are used for two reasons, the first is to control dust and particles during the removal process. The second is to lower the square footage of an area for maximum drying when using a dehumidifier.
Negative Air: Negative air is when commercial fans are venting out windows, doors, or other openings drawing all the air from the containment out of the air during removal. Even if the containment is open, proper negative air prevents the release of particles in the containment when removing contaminated materials. With powerful negative air pressure, air from nearby rooms is being pulled through the containment and out the opening used to vent the fans.
Safe Remediation Procedures: We carefully remove all moldy wet materials with EPA procedures, with a focus on controlled demo abatement, and proper removal of the trash.
HEPA Air Scrubbers: During the mold and water removal process, we clean the air using commercial-grade and industrial-strength air scrubbing machines. These machines use HEPA filters designed to capture 99.97% of all airborne particles and microscopic spores.
HEPA Vacuums: Clean the contaminated area using what are known as EPA-approved HEPA filters and bags, which are designed to capture 99.97% of all airborne and microscopic spores.
Mold Cleaning Solutions: After we clean the area of debris, we clean the containment area and materials with EPA-approved mold cleaning agents. We saturate the wood frames and interior of the walls while scrubbing away all mold with drill scrub brushes and vacuuming at the same time.
Drying: Drying is the most important step when controlling mold growth. Mold spores will ONLY grow when water is added in the right environment. Most dry time is 2-3 days for successful mold removal. We use many different types of dehumidifiers for each containment area size.
The Final Step: Once all wet materials are dry, the final step involves vacuuming and performing a complete wipe-down within the work area. Once the job has been double-checked for quality, the containment is taken down, removal all equipment and dispose of the trash properly.
